Purgatorio (Italian for "Purgatory") is the second part of Dante's Divine Comedy, following the Inferno, and preceding the Paradiso. The poem was written in the early 14th century. It is an allegory telling of the climb of Dante up the Mount of Purgatory, guided by the Roman poet Virgil, except for the last four cantos at which point Beatrice takes over as Dante's guide.

After 2 years of collecting ideas, sound design, arranging and composing the next step of Dante's afterworld travel up to the Mount Purgatory comes to an end. It's nearly impossible to fix all characters, sights and feelings into one collection of 2 hours music, while reading the second part of the "Divine Comedy" in parallel where seven levels representing the seven deadly sins with ironic punishments. But after reading I try to highlight specific characters and stories within this new album. In order to the original "cantos" I named all music titles in Latin language. The music ranges between various ambient and electronic soundscapes and is made with pure creative freedom. The whole album is separated in two CDs, but mixed in the digital release as one long track journey to get the best experience I recommend you listen to it like that. Enjoy it!
